Description
These are as rare as Hens teeth.
And much sought after:
A duplex. matching numbers. nacelle. dustbin Tiger 110. My recollection is that they were only sold with a bath tub for 2 years. 1960-62. And this one is an excellent example with an MOT to 31/7/14 and free tax to June.
I am informed that it has had a recent mag' re-furbish and apparently done very little mileage since the engine was also overhauled evidenced by good starting and being a lovely sounding runner. It does run unevenly from cold but within a minute is ticking over nicely. I have put some new jets and gaskets in the carb' and feel it just requires an air screw adjustment when taken out. I have not ridden it since due to ill health and that is also why it has to reluctantly go. I have also just put a new alternator and rectifier/regulator on. It is on 12 volts.
The dustbin is. unusually for these Triumphs still a metal one. and I dare bet probably the original one. As the photo shows. there has been a bit of abuse by some oaf where the 2 halves join adjacent to the rear of the seat and there is evidence of some filler but it is minimal.
Also. (probably the same oaf) has wrongly fitted the bottom part of the nacelle by making two further holes? The nacelle and forks would benefit from re-painting.
Again the oaf. I know this fool is getting boring. but when he put the tank carrier on. it must have been fouling on the tank retaining strap so instead of putting correct spacers under the carrier he cut a piece out of it. What a Philistine!
There was no centre stand fitted and I have put a new one on. I got a fitting kit with it but there is a ring to attach the spring which fits over the bottom of the gearbox and it is impossible to fit it without the gearbox out so I have the stand supported with a strap whilst riding. This is obviously off and out of the way when parked. There is some scuff damage to the right side exhaust. The chain guard is missing.
These bikes are desirable classics and only going up therefore they are a good investment. A catalogue purist will find fault but as a non anorak I reckon the bike is 95% correct. A viewing is advised. No haggling after sale.
The bike is on sale elsewhere so may be withdrawn from website.
I will hold the bike for 3 days after the sale at which time it will go to the next best offer. £200 to PayPal when the hammer drops and the remainder Cash on collection please.
