Yamaha HL500 Twinshock

Yamaha HL500.

The engine is a Rod Spry 540cc, to which we have added stainless steel oil lines and done some machining work on the casings. We have also fitted a billet chain case saver. The frame is new, the swingarm is new, the rear Öhlins shocks are new, the plastics are new, the seat is new, the carburetor (38mm Mikuni) is new, the chain and sprockets are new, and the tyres are new. Everything else has been reconditioned, cleaned, powder-coated, re-plated, or replaced. The wheels and forks are Yamaha YZ. The tank has been stripped, all dents beaten out, re-welded, pressure tested, painted, decals fitted, and then lacquered. It has been fitted with a billet fuel cap and a YZ490 petrol tap. The bike has a full stainless steel exhaust system.

We have only ridden this bike up and down a dirt track to test it out, so it is pretty much new. The rest of the pictures are of two other bikes we have built, and we are in the process of building two more yellow ones.

We can supply a frame and swingarm kit made from 4130 chrome-moly tube and an aluminium swingarm, aluminium engine plates, oil filler cap, swingarm spindle, and bearings. We can also supply side panels in top-quality GRP, Wilbers rear shocks, billet fuel caps, billet chain case savers, billet yokes, and stainless steel exhaust systems. Additionally, we can supply 540cc engines fully rebuilt on an exchange basis or as a supply-only option.

We are also building some XT/TT 500 twinshock motocross bikes using a modified XT/TT 500 frame and an aluminium swingarm, very similar to the ones pictured on the HL500s. This can be done to your frame or on an exchange basis with one of our frames.
