Original British Registered SX200

Registered in Salisbury on 21st April 1969. I am the 3rd owner from new.

Incredibly rare as one of the final batch made by Innocenti

Bodywork

When I bought this it had been rattle sprayed black and holed up for many years. I took every panel back to bare metal by hand. using a water based marine paint stripper to preserve the metal; there has never been any sort of sand blasting to any panel. As a result every panel. bar the rear mudguard. was saved and restored. The bodywork and paint finish were done by Fast Eddie in Oldham – the photo's do not do justice to the finish.

Where possible the original fixings have been used: again these were taken back by hand and polished. Where replacements have been used eg the wheel nuts. items as close to the original have been sourced. in this case white nylon lined. The same goes for trim with any replacements being Casa Lambretta.

The front fork internals were rebuilt by AF Rayspeed. The dampers are the original items.

Engine

The engine casing and crankcase cover were lapped by hand using wet and dry and wire wool to reproduce as close to factory finish as possible – over 40 hours work. The casing carries the marks of age adding further to the authenticity rather than having it dipped and removing all reminders that this has been a road machine.

Six Character Number Plate OHR **G. Number plate was made by the previous owner from the original numbers plate off the front mudguard.

The scooter. other than internals and necessary replacement. is as close to factory original as you are likely to find. The metallic red on the side panels is close to what was available as a Lambretta Concessionaires UK option at the time. I have extended it to take in the front mudguard and the head-set.

Not been on the road since restoration – will need running in.

It's not perfect (what is?) but this is one of the nicest examples I have seen even excusing personal bias.

Bad Bits

The original ignition switch has been left in place but it's a bit worn out – works fine but the key holder is loose. It can be restored. Jem Booth is the top man for this. I do have another high quality switch which the buyer is welcome to have (need wires soldering on).

After re-spraying I discovered the front wheel rim was warped. there is an Innocenti rim on there now but it will need spraying silver.

No key for the toolbox lock – again Jem Booth is your man.

To get a key for the lock and spray the rim will cost in total around £50.

Reason For Selling:

I walk past it every day in the garage and have done for over two years since completing the restoration. I just don't have time to appreciate it and it should go to someone who does.
