Description
This 996 RS specification bike is in immaculate and pristine condition and must not be confused with other heavily spannered race Ducatis. The bike was described by John Hackett as a ‘superb bike which is appreciating in value' and Rick Hackett stated the bike would still be competitive in club racing. The bike has not been ridden in the wet during the last 11 years and has resided in my living room.
The bike has a full Ducati Corse RS wide track rolling chassis which includes magnesium yoke. tripple clamp and extended swing arm and hub with full race Ohlins suspension. A tuned 996 SPS engine prepared by JH Performance / Ducati Coventry is fitted which reduces running costs significantly compared to the the RS variant*.
During September 2008 to March 2009. the bike underwent a complete engine rebuild and refurbishment including new pistons and shells by Ducati Coventry / JH Performance at a cost in excess of £4000.00. All work was completed by Rick Hackett to an exceptional standard and since that time the bike has covered a mere 100 miles.
Suspension set up has been undertaken by Steve Whitear of Peak Performance based in Exeter as I only permit true experts in their field to undertake work on the bike.

History
The bike has an interesting history and whilst currently painted in the 2002 Monstermob racing colours. was built for MP Racing by Ray Stringer. Ray ran the IFC Ducati Team in 2002 with Sean Emmett and Paul Brown which folded towards the end of the 2002 season. Many of the parts used to build the bike were sourced from the IFC bikes (which incidentally originated from the Reve Red Bull Ducati Team which was owned by Ben Atkins.
The bike was used by MP Racing / Michael Pensavalle as a ‘second / wet bike' and in 2003 competed in the New Era Club and Sounds of Thunder Championship finishing fourth and subsequently won the Sounds of Thunder Club Championship in 2004.
As outlined above. MP racing was supported by Ray Stringer who continued to undertake all the mechanical and preparation work attending MP's racing events.
I purchased the bike at the end of the 2004 season. having viewed the bike at both Donnington and Silverstone tracks.
I have subsequently had a new starter motor fitted. however due to the compression; the bike has been predominately started via the use of a paddock starter to save wear on the spragg clutch and battery.
The bike is sold with spare set of magnesium wheels with wet tyres. 4 x rear sprockets. spare brake pads and rear paddock stand. The paddock starter is available under separate negotiation.
Despite being displayed in my living room. the bike is started (outside) and run up to temperature on a monthly basis.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
As you will appreciate it is very difficult to record and outline the full specification. however I have endeavored to be as accurate as possible. The bike was previously advertised 18 months ago and despite global interest. the promised commitment did not materialise. The reason for sale is purely due to health reasons and any new owner can be rest assured that the bike has been maticoulsly well cared for.
The bike is offered for sale at £14. 95 which is a fraction of the build and preparation cost. As enthusiatists will understand based on the cost. the bike does not have a Pierobon frame (this would add a further £10k to the purchase price) and is sold with the original Ducati frame as used by Michael Pensavalle.
There is no V5 document or MOT with this bike.
A deposit of £1000 will be required and due to charges; payment via Pay Pal cannot be accepted. The balance must be paid in cash or via cleared prior to collection.
