BMW R1200RT 2010 original limited edition paint scheme, full luggage

Hi all. this is the extremely reluctant sale of my 2010 BMW R1200RT in the limited edition Metalic black coachwork with silver and graphite grey stripes. This was a genuine BMW cost option for these RT's. the last of the real Boxer bikes before going part water cooled. I have owned quite an unbelievable range of vehicles with both 2 and 4 wheels but this is by far the best machine I have ever owned. The balance for such a large bike is simply brilliant. whether you are creeping a slow speeds or getting lean angles mid corner that a tourer just shouldn't be capable of. you will always have a feel of total confidence.

I am the second owner of this bike and she is just as she left the factory. everything is tight and the bike responds as you would expect from the bike that every magazine quotes as the best sport tourer money can buy.

She has the electrically adjustable screen. just a push of a button on the left hand control has the screen in the perfect position. this is all working correctly and quickly not lazy like some I have ridden. Once the screen is set into its position for your comfort. just move your thumb across the same controls to the ESA button and you can select from three rider modes.

Comfort. perfect for laid back motorway cruising.

Normal. this is great for everyday riding and gives you a very flexible bike.

Sport. this sharpens the throttle response. stiffens the suspension and transforms the entire bike into quite a surprising road rasher capable of upsetting more sport focussed machines.

Two stage heated grips as well as two stage heated seats for both the rider and pillion.

Comes with the full colour coded BMW luggage system complete with the large top box capable of holding two helmets.

Full trip computer with MPG. range etc. and temp/petrol gauges. Also has a genuine BMW sat nav 'bar' mounted on the top of the dash cluster.

Full service history. including a full fluid. brake pad and tappet set service by a very well known BMW independent in February with all original BMW parts. Based off the back of this service I had the exhaust solenoid replaced at a cost of £450. these often seize but this has a few months old brand new BMW item so no worries there.

I replace the awful Bridgestone tyres with Michelin Road Pilot 4 GT tyres front and rear in February. I have probably cover around 5000 miles on these and once you've tried Road Pilot tyres you will never fit another tyre! The grip and feel in all weathers is amazing and if anything improves as the weather worsens. The rear is still above half worn and the front has the majority of its life left.

All original factory spec except for the tyres though the latest BMW RT's now come fitted with Road Pilot 4's and I have added a rear brake pedal extensions. BMW's pedal is very small and quite easy to fumble for especially in the wet.

She has covered 21. 00 miles but that's not even breaking in a BMW boxer engine and has picked up a few marks but they are quite minor and I have highlighted them in the photos. She has a few bits of the well renowned BMW corrosion on the lower powder coated parts mainly around the centre shaft on the bevel box. please see photos.

MoT'd until 30th August 2014 and it will fly through any test and has a few months tax left on her.

Please don't mistake these RT's built between 2010-12 with the previous ones. the bike was heavily refined and had many changes. the engines are far stronger and more willing to rev and BMW finally decided to address their well known ABS faults. so no worries there.

She is ready for the summer in the UK or that tour around Europe. I really don't want to sell but a change to the contract I have been working on has left me with little opinion!
