Description
1960 BSA A10 650cc Gold Flash. Colour Nuttley Blue. ex John Henderson Very good overall condition. I've run this classic motorcycle for 10 years. Hadn't had it long before I booked it into SRM in Wales to check it out and on their recommendation. I had them improve the lights with a Podtronics 6 to 12 volt conversion. All the electrics and especially the lights are brilliant now. They then converted the ignition and installed an electronic ignition K2F Twin Magneto system that is flicked on and off with a little switch discreetly located out of sight. The dynamo was also overhauled with new small and large bearings along with new brushes. A new armature and field coils along with a new regulator and the necessary new wiring loom was also fitted to make the new system 100% reliable. The work took a couple of days to do and as I was staying at my brothers I was able to pop in and out of the workshop a number of times. What caught my eye was this oil pump that was set up spinning away. the engineers were running a pressure and flow test on the newly designed SRM billet high delivery oil pump. So while my engine was apart I asked them to fit one into my motor. It was expensive but as its proved. well worth it. You'll see the oil pressure is very good at all running temperatures. As back up they also fitted a sump filter kit and magnet. I have the invoices to show the full extent of the work done. With these upgrades this BSA starts easy and runs smooth as silk on the road. Its a genuine classic motorcycle that sounds great. turning heads. throbbing along at all speeds. It looks the part also with beautiful bright colour and gleaming chrome. Yes it has a couple of tiny paintwork chips here and there as you have with any working bike old or new. But the overall aspect suggests quality. The seat which I find comfortable has a sit in. rather than sit on saddle. that stops you sliding about and is helpful sometimes to keep both feet on the ground. The front tyre is an Avon Speedmaster MK11 Ribbed. The rear is a Avon Road Runner. This BSA has all the original tinware including nacelle. tanks. mudguards and a complete rear chain enclosure in excellent condition. The chrome on the wheels and exhaust system is excellent. The log book shows the original numbers. This bike is not an over priced show room relic or a trumped up bitsa. Its an original classic Gold Flash I've looked after for the last 10 years. upgrading it to make it very reliable and a pleasure to own and ride. Who ever buys this will have an appreciating asset that's better than money in the bank. £5250 ono.
Of course visual hands on inspection is all ways best. If you want to come and view the bike your welcome most days but I'm always busy 3 till 4pm. Contact me and we'll sort something out. Best regards.
