Description
Very rare Bimota YB7 model, built exclusively for Japan. There are only about five in total in the UK.
This model was built in 1989 and imported by the Bimota Owners Club chairman. The bike is listed on the old Bimota register, all verified. It has all standard parts fitted.
This is a fantastic bike, running an FZR400 1WG motor with an EXUP valve, all functioning correctly. It handles very well. I have owned this bike since 2006 and have covered very few miles since (too many bikes). It has been dry-stored in a garage for many years.
The bike has just had:
- Carbs stripped, ultrasonically cleaned, rebuilt, and set up
- New oil and filter
- New fork oil
- New chain and rear sprocket
- New plugs and air filter
- Brakes bled
- New battery
- New HID headlight conversion (as the old 35/35W headlight system was very poor)
No wires have been cut, and it could be returned to standard very easily.
Includes original Bimota spare parts catalogue, Bimota workshop manual, and Marzocchi M1R fork manual.
Built with the best components available in 1989:
- Brembo floating discs
- Marzocchi M1R forks
- Ohlins rear shock
- Precision-machined engineering throughout
Some previous MOTs are available to verify the mileage, approximately 24,000 km (15,750 miles).
Best to inspect in person. I will remove the fairing/bodywork for the purchaser to inspect all areas.
A very rare opportunity to own one—I have never seen another for sale. The bodywork has some crazing, so you can use it as is or restore it.
With a new MOT and a year's tax, this would make an excellent track or race bike, though it handles superbly on the road.
