Ducati 916 SPS Foggy Replica, Number 4 of 202. S reg 1998. 8630 miles.
Recent major service, including new belts, fuel pump, battery, filters, regulator/rectifier, and stator. 10 months MOT. It has a full service history with the service book stamped and numerous receipts and previous MOTs.
Comes with three keys. There are two previous owners.
As the bike is the SPS Foggy Replica model, it comes with a full carbon package: single carbon seat unit, carbon airbox, carbon swingarm protector, etc., lightweight Marchesini wheels, titanium Termignoni exhaust with carbon cans, Ohlins shocks, EPROM chip, and race sticker set (some are on the bike, others are still unused).
I have owned the bike for the past 11 years. It is in beautiful condition and ready for the road. It has always been either garaged or kept in the house.
Only 202 Foggy Replicas were ever built by Ducati, and this one was the 4th one built. There is a plaque on the top yolk to verify this. So, this is an opportunity to own a very rare motorcycle, which is an appreciating asset.
When brand new, this bike cost £20,000.
Items that sadly didn't get handed to me when I bought the bike were the original bike cover, stand, and the metal plaque in a presentation box.
In 1998, Ducati needed to homologate a new frame with a lowered cross brace to allow a larger airbox. Called a Kyalami frame, as it was introduced in the middle of the 1998 season at the Kyalami WSB race in South Africa, it allowed more room for a bigger airbox design that reportedly boosted horsepower considerably. To make the frame race-legal, they needed to sell a street version, so the UK-only 916 SPS Fogarty Replica was released. 202 were sold in Britain in honour of WSB rider Carl Fogarty.
