Description
1992 Honda RC 30
I bought this bike in 2000.
The original owner was an older gentleman. He put around 7. 00 miles on the bike in the time he owned it. but it gave him back ache. and so he decided to sell it.
It was bought by a friend of his based down near Brands Hatch. The guy who bought it was basically a speculator. who hoped to make a huge return on his investment.
I saw the bike after he advertised it. I liked it. but wasn't prepared to pay the price that was being asked. I harassed the guy for two years. in an effort to get him to price it more reasonably.
Then. one day. he had a major flood in his house. and wanted the bike gone. I bought it from him for what was. even back then. top money.
This second owner had never ridden it; it was still totally original. It was even supplied with the original rear tyre that had got a puncture ( I no longer have the tyre. Sorry!).
At that point. the bike had still only covered c. 7. 00 miles. Today. the figure is 10. 27.
This was the very first 'classic' bike that I ever bought. I rode it a bit in the first couple of years but. since then. it has sat high up on a pallet in our warehouse as part of our small collection of iconic machines from the sixties. seventies and eighties (okay. so I know it's a 1992 bike. but spiritually it's from the eighties).
As a 1992 bike. it's one of the very latest RC30s to be produced. so it will never have any of the valve problems associated with the earlier bikes.
This. of course. is the kind of RC30 that everybody is looking for. It has never been raced. In fact. it's never even been on a track day.
Everything on the bike is totally original: the bodywork. wheels. exhausts and so on.
It's in what can only be described as showroom condition.
I've got the original paddock stand. Honda service book. tools and so on.
Which brings me to the subject of price.
I don't know the market well. and I'm not a dealer. but having spoken with a number of experts. I have set the price at £30. 00.
The price is firm. We will not entertain offers. or do deals. I do not wish to sound rude. but we have set a price that we consider to be fair; one that reflects the condition. history and originality of the bike.
Please don't make an appointment to see the bike of you're not prepared to pay the price we are asking.
I'm sure there are people out there who will be able to find fault with our RC30. I can't imagine where this might be. but there's bound to be something that somebody doesn't like.
But don't be offended when your entreaties fall on deaf ears.
We are currently offering for sale some 20 bikes from our collection. but we won't sell them all. and no single bike has to go. so if we don't get the money we want for the RC30. we'll leave it on the shelf.
To see a list of all our bikes. or to arrange to see the RC30. email christopher. paul@grandprixlegends. com.
All the bikes can be viewed at our warehouse on the outskirts of Guildford.
