Here we have one of the nicest Triumph-Norton special builds I have ever had the pleasure of gracing our classic bike dealership.
Recently built using a combination of new. and used parts this completed bike is a dream.
The chassis is the world famous Norton Wideline Featherbed which I believe was manufactured by The Reynolds Company using 531 grade tubing. Forks are the renown Norton Short Roadholders fitted with a John Tickle alloy yolk. and chrome springs. wheels are FWH Norton laced to flanged alloy rims fitted with Avon Road Rider sticky rubber!
Manx short circuit style alloy fuel tank. and central oil tank are finished to a very high standard in Manx Norton livery. A Manx Norton style racing seat with cut out for oil filler along with the black alloy mudguards complements the Manx Norton look perfectly.
The engine is a gem having just had a complete rebuild. and will require running in as new.
The pre unit big bearing crank cases house a one piece crankshaft. and twin E3134 camshafts. alloy connecting rods. pistons are 9. 5. 1 fitted to what appears to be a new set of cylinders. 9 stud cylinder head. and rocker covers. A set of new Amal concentric carbs matched as a pair. One piece finned alloy rocker oil feed. and finned alloy tappet covers complete the top end.
Ignition is by Magneto. and the battery is taken care of by a recondition dynamo unit.
Exhausts are twin swept backs fitted with Dunstall silencers. They sound lovely!
Other parts included Dural alloy engine plates. chromed rear set footrests. quick action twin pull twistgrip. alloy control levers. chrome race mounted headlight. Clip on handlebars.
Battery is fitted behind the gearbox mounted in its own stainless steel battery box.
Primary drive is by belt with a really neat alloy cover. Gearbox is a Triumph unit.
So there you have it. Truly one of the nicest Tritons in the UK. Its not cheap but bikes of this calibre never are.
