Description

Fresh in, and somewhat older than our usual stock, but such a fabulous-looking bike, it was impossible to resist.

Hopefully, the pictures will give you a flavor of just how comprehensive this total rebuild was. (There's a couple of pics of the starting point on there too).

The bike started life as a genuine Super Rocket, with the chassis number FA7 8522, and was supplied to its first owner by Duplex Motors, Darlington. The engine is the A10 Golden Flash 650. These details are confirmed on the BSA Owners Club dating certificate that comes with the bike.

Rather than try to list all of the details in the history folder, you'll see that I have taken a photograph of the paperwork to give you an idea of just how much there is—lots!

Even without the stack of receipts, it's clear that the rebuild included newly rebuilt wheels and tyres, rebuilt forks, a new wiring loom, all new chrome and paint, new rear shocks, a new seat, new pipes, new silencers, new badges, grips, cables, a rebuilt speedo, etc., etc., etc. There is a selection of pre-rebuild photographs that, again, show just how much has been done to this bike. ALL of the metalwork is just that—metal, with no reproduction fiberglass parts.

The bike starts easily, first or second kick, with no smoke or untoward noises, and sounds absolutely gorgeous. The engine is remarkably quiet and showing a healthy oil return to the tank.

Although MOT'd, the dating certificate confirms a 1958 build, so the bike has been declared MOT exempt on the grounds of age.

These days, it seems that even rough or untidy candidates for rebuilds on these BSA 650s are climbing rapidly in price, so at this price, surely a must for the BSA fan or collector.

As ever, any inspection is welcome and encouraged, and if you're unable to view in person, we're happy to email high-resolution pictures. Even at this price, we're more than happy to consider YOUR classic in part exchange.

We've a small but carefully chosen selection of classics, particularly BMW, with stock bikes including R100R (x2), R80, R60/5, R75/5, R1100RT, R1100RS, and even an F800ST.
