Description
This is my custom Harley. Built in 1997 by Briz at Custom Cycle Developments in Norfolk.
It has a reasonably tuned 1340 Evolution FXR rubber mounted engine set up for good midrange power. with an EV3 cam. ported & polished heads with nitrided valves by Boz. a 'Super E' carb and Accel ignition it is a good starter. has a really impressive take off and pulls like a train up to around 90 (which is about all I want to do!)
Fitted with a belt primary and chain final drive it has a hydraulic clutch which is nice and light. all the hydraulics & electrics run through the handle bars to keep the front end tidy. I've removed the chain guard as it fouled my throw over saddlebags.
A stretched CCD softail frame with a rising rate vertical Hagon shock. 4" over twin disc Kawasaki front end with polished yokes and dual front mudguard/fork brace.
Flame paintwork by Ty at Pageant
Paughco Pipes give it an impressive exhaust note especially on the overrun. guaranteed to set off all the car alarms if you give it a blip!
Custom sprung saddle helps with the bum ache on long distance. the sprung saddle isn't shown in the pictures but I'll add some better pics later. the one piece seat shown comes with the bike.
Solid 'V Rod' wheels.
Generally in good condition it's only done 6000 miles (I ride other bikes) new rear tyre 900 miles ago front tyre has plenty of life left. here are a few marks on the paintwork and the odd chip. the front mudguard could do with repainting (plain black so not an expensive job) the powder coating on the brake calipers is showing it's age and would benefit from a clean up but overall up and ready to ride.
As to riding it. the seat is fairly low slung and gives a good centre of gravity but let me be clear this is a heavy machine and with the rake and extension it's a handful at low speeds and requires a bit of muscle and a firm hand. that's not to say it's difficult to ride but if you're only used to a Virago or a Sportster this is in a different league! just being honest. that said it's a real buzz to ride and just swoops through the bends. I took it across the Alps last year. it was phenomenal riding and handled everything the mountain roads threw at it.
Currently being serviced and having a new primary belt fitted.
