2009 Ducati 1098S red and white, factory Xerox replica

Now reduced for a qiock sale. Ideal winter project - just needs engine work - still has six months MOT.

Sadly it's time to sell my beautiful Xerox replica 1098s. It needs to be collected by van. as the engine is dismantled.

I bought the bike about eighteen months ago as a Cat C repaired bike. It was damaged in an accident in 2012. but was repaired and put back into full working order before it became mine.

I didn't get the chance to ride it properly until spring this year. when I had it fully serviced (including belts) by Ducati. and had it MOT'd in June.

Unfortunately. during a track day at Silverstone. the engine misfired a couple of times. so I pulled in. and had the bike taken by van back to the Ducati dealer.

After a couple of weeks. and a test ride to determine the problem. it was discovered that a bearing had failed. Further investigations. with the engine removed from the bike. revealed that quite a bit of damage has been done.

I am not a mechanic. so am not able to rebuild and re-install the engine. and I cannot afford to spend the money needed to fix this gorgeous bike. Hopefully it will go to someone either with the mechanical ability. or finance. or both to get the machine back on the road where it belongs. All it would need is either another engine. or the deft touch of a knowledgable mechanic to put the motor back together with some new parts.

It's a beautiful machine. and handles really well. With the front forks having been fitted with racing internals. (which were nearly £1200). the ride is firm and predictable.

The tyres have only done about 200 miles.

The bike is now back at my home. midway between Hereford and Abergavenny.

All of the engine parts will come with the bike - probably in a couple of boxes.
