Description
BSA B31 350 - Plunger - Wonderful patina - Ride or Restore
I re-commissioned this bike for a pensioner friend last year who can't ride anymore. He bought it in 1974 and kept it in good mechanical order. He had a large collection of bikes so this one hardly ever got used. Over the years he has fitted a JG voltage regulator and a new Standard (pre Monobloc) Amal carburettor.
It has the original buff logbook which shows it was supplied new to Cope's of Wolverhampton and one old MOT from C & D Autos.
I fitted a re-conditioned oil pump and drive shaft from Draganfly Mcs. a new battery and had the Magneto rebuilt by Tony Cooper and then got a V5 in my name from the buff logbook so I could insure and ride it. The reg. no: NJW 627 is therefore non-transferrable. The frame and engine numbers match the V5 and buff logbook.
I fitted a sprung saddle and find the ride very comfortable. Its an easy starter and ticks over reliably. The bike is Road-tax and MOT exempt.
The chrome is poor or none existent on the wheel rims. bubbly on the petrol tank and peeling on parts like the plunger suspension. The original exhaust is quite tidy though. The paintwork is original apart from the mudguards which someone has painted rather coarsely in black. They have some rust holes in them too but are basically sound otherwise.
The pictures form part of the description and tend to show it in better condition than it is. so. viewing is highly recommended here in North Shropshire. Please contact me through Motorcycles-for-sale or Mobile 07470 489997.
Here is your chance to own a bike with a lovely patina that's a very comfortable ride.
Cash on collection preferred. Don't miss this lovely BSA!
