Ducati 916 SP3 - No. 405 of 497 ever built

Ducati 916 SP3.
This is one for the collector. The SP3 is the ultimate edition of Ducati's stunning 916 before it evolved to the 996 engine. This is a super rare bike. with only 497 ever produced. For those that don't know. these were produced as homologation specials that allow the factory to qualify for the WSB Championship. They had to be as close to the race bikes as they could be. with uprated engine. suspension. frame. bodywork etc. And all have an individual limited edition plaque mounted on the top yoke. Titanium con rods. "shower" injectors. carbon fibre body work. adjustable rake angle on the frame head stock (to speed up turn in). to name but a few (if you google the spec it will give you the full run down). With approx. 130 bhp they have a useful performance advantage over a standard 916 and ride like a full on race bike. !When they were delivered they came with street exhausts and a matching chip for the mapping for the uprated P4 ECU. They also had a pair of Termignoni tail pipes and a further uprated mapping chip to suit the Termignoni's as a race kit. This bike still has both sets of exhausts and chips both in as new condition! (try finding them)
This bike is number 405. It has a very desirable and rare option of magnesium 6-spoke Marchesini wheels (factory supplied), which decrease the unsprung weight and increase the speed of direction change. It has only done 17000 miles which is registered in kilometers (27000) as it was imported from Germany last year. The NOVA (HMRC notification of vehicle arrivals) has been completed and all taxes and duties have been paid and it is ready to register. The new owner will be the first UK owner and only the third owned from new.
This bike is in excellent condition both visually and mechanically and is a sure fire investment as prices have risen rapidly over the last couple of years and are only going to continue rising.
