Description
This bike has had a complete top-end rebuild, including new Hepolite pistons, new +60 bore, stainless valves, bronze guides, springs, etc. New electronic ignition, new coils/leads, etc. New PWK JRC flatside carbs (quality carburation, cost a fortune!). Starts easily and runs beautifully—fast and torquey.
Please note this is not a concours show bike but is clean, tidy, and rideable.
Some interesting frame features: correct lugs for upswept pipes, no provision for pillion pegs (possible competition frame?). As most early A65 frames were stamped as A50, it does not have matching engine and frame numbers. Matching numbers did not start until 1967.
This info came from two of my workmates who were both BSA factory apprentices in the '60s. As I don't have much history on this bike, I am not selling it as a genuine factory Hornet (but it's possible!).
MOT and taxed, V5C in my name (tax exempt). Could be ridden home but has not been tested on long journeys.
