Description
1970 Kawasaki H1 Mach111 500 for sale: Engine # KAE 09871, frame # KAF 10896 manufactured November 1969.
This almost immaculate bike has been part of my motorcycle lounge collection since a total nut & bolt restoration around 10 years ago.
Work done to this bike was not limited to Engine: 0.50 over with original 'hi cut' type 1970 60bhp barrels; new rods; pins; rings; bearings; seals; crank straightened & pinned; re-thicknessed & re-hardened gearbox selectors; gearbox re-shimmed; new clutch; chain; sprockets; NOS distributor & ignition system including aftermarket CDI; 'windowed' carbs all overhauled with all NOS parts; NOS oil pump & lines; NOS exhaust fitted at zero miles with NOS seals/clamps with correct triangular baffles...
Electrics; NOS wiring loom; new switches & gauges restored at huge expense. NOS tail & headlights; NOS indicators.
Suspension: NOS 1969 'sandcast' shocks; tapered head bearings fitted; new brakes front & rear; all new cables; re-chromed fork outers with new inner tubes; wheels re-chromed; re-spoked; new bearings & seals; the seat has been restored & recovered; new tubes & Metzler Lasertech tyres front & rear 2555 miles ago.
Paint: Frame & panels repainted with new decals etc; Fuel tank sealed; NOS petcock & filter; all S/S & Aluminium re-polished.
Almost everything within reason was restored or NOS original equipment apart from; modern CDI; S/S Allen drive machine screws. The kicker & air box have patina; the fuel lines have since been replaced with black rubber fuel line with S/S clamps. I have spent a fortune on doing the job properly & returning it to factory standard spec such as finding an original air box.
Over the 2555miles since restoration and over the passing of 10 years there is evidence of use on what is otherwise a VERY tidy 50 year old bike. Apart from the bars, CDI & machine screws, I have also tried to point two cosmetic flaws... see the pictures. The bike I believe is VERY tidy but not is 100% mint...for those of you who like virgin unused, I also have a zero miles unstarted 69 H1 for sale.
Bank deposit is preferable as it will attract only minimal fees for both buyer & seller. Bike is sold with no road worthy as I haven't used it at least five years...
Although the 1970's are now over and freight is likely to be expensive, I will go out of my way to help the buyer in any way I can.
