Seller notes: 1913 OHV Indian Motorcycle Single Hedstrom antique motorcycle
Description
This 1913 OHV Indian was built by my late Father-in-law, Ken Edmiston, Indian Hall of Famer for Hill Climbing, Flat Track and general racing in the 1930's, 1940's and early 1950's.
He raced for both the Harley and Indian Dealerships in the Seattle Area, but prefered Indian. He passed in 2006, the bike last was running about that time, it does not run now. I cannot find a title for the bike, it probably has none. I will provide a notarized bill of sale. In the last picture Ken is the center person, the man on his left was Roy Burke a life time buddy and competitor of his and also an Indian Hall of Famer, Roy tied for first at the Muskegon 1947 Hill climb championship. Ken is pictured with this bike. It has had many motor transformations as he and Roy continued the competition on the pre 1916 tours. The other man on his right was Don Woodard another old motorcycle enthusiast of his. This bike is one of about 5 that Ken and Roy built. When I first went on one of these tours Ken told me not to try and keep up with these bikes as I wouldn't. I was a young buck back then and there was no way I on my 1915 twin that was stroked couldn't keep up with some old men! As always he was right, I seized my bike very quickly! The single Indian was rather anemic in its' original state, Ken had his bike able to do 80MPH, he put drop center rims an as a safety improvement for the speeds he liked. When I took custody of the bike there was no transmission in it, I put a 1915 3 speed, one year only Hedstrom tranny in it, the gears are in GREAT shape! The bike was missing a few parts when I acquired it, I have tried to put them back on. I did notice that the key is probably sheared on the motor sprocket.
