1979 Kawasaki MKII

1979 KZ1000 MKII.
These classics do not come up for sale all that often, they were a two year production span, although the first year (1979) is more desirable this was the updated KZ 1000 brought out by Kawasaki. The MKII was their sports bike of 79
there were a lot of Thr kz 1000 LTDs produced in 79 and 80, but not that many of these MKII bikes.

These were up on power from the 77/78 KZ1000 at 93HP had a stiffer frame better suspension and overall better handling with better brakes.
They topped out at 130MPH although most owners think they were faster.

This particular bike was painted by the original owner in 1986.
I have the original paint code color in the manual if you want to put it back to stock color this was a red one.
Original owner also put a Kerker exhaust system on it back in the day and an oil cooler.

The bike has a scrape on the chrome front fender, the rest of the bike appears in great condition, engine has no broken or damaged cooling fins, tank looks great on the outside showing no dents, the inside is clean.
Bike starts right up with a little choke, then once warm it idles smooth with the choke off and rides great
Brakes work as they should the bike has K&N air filter pods and the original airbox is long gone.
The bike has the original manual tail box ( hard to find piece).

Overall this bike is ready to restore to original or ride as is. I would not hesitate to ride this bike cross country tomorrow. Tires are in good shape with plenty of tread.
