Description
A BRITISH CLASSIC and STEVE MCQUEEN'S FAVORITE!
The 1969 TR6C was the competition off-road model of the TR6 Trophy, with the scrambler exhausts complete with the "chip basket" or "bbq grill" heat shield. The TR6C Trophy was built at the request of Triumph's sole US distributor at the time, Johnson Motors in southern California, as a way to target the growing number of desert riders. It was fitted with Dunlop Trials Universal block-tread tires and was the model referred to as the "Desert Sled". The TR6 and TR6R were renamed Tiger for 1969, leaving the TR6C model with the Trophy name. Most consider the 1969-70 Trophy the best ever produced by Triumph because of the enhancements that were made to the model throughout the 60's before Triumph went to the oil-in-frame models of the 1970s.
This motorcycle has been professionally restored with a complete tear down and rebuild with only 148 miles on the freshly rebuilt motor. Everything on the bike is working as it should and all parts are period correct. I bought this bike from the original owner and I have documentation of all the work that has been performed which totals nearly $18k worth of parts and labor. Everything has been done right on this bike and it starts on the first kick every time. You'll love the stance with the "cowboy" wide handlebars.
