Description
For sale;
1951 Harley Davidson WL
Genuine civilian one of the last years they made the WL 1 of 1044 made!
45 cubic inch, 750cc 3 speed manual hand change, manual advance/retard.
Owned this bike for a number of years but due to lack of storage it's up for sale.
It's still 6V with a new coil and HT leads, I've also upgraded the carb to a 26mm Amal Mk1 concentric premier, better on fuel and performance the internal carb spring makes a hell of a difference! It's got a genuine bates adaptor not a home made one! Along with a stainless fuel line with a flexi extension so it looks like the old Harley fuel lines. It's got an external throttle set up at the moment that is just for ease for me and I like the look of it. W&W sell the grip with the reversed spiral if you wanted to run internal cables.
I still have the M54 linkert (6 month only carburettor) and air cleaner and fuel line which I'll include if the bike reaches what I want for it. You can see the back of it on an engine photo I uploaded.
Its got some wear here and there to be expected on the black painted bits which appears to be original paint mainly on the primary cover and the headlight and battery box and old stone chips on the forks but I love all that! Other than that the tank and fenders polish up nicely, it looks great as it is and it gets regular compliments. I'd just taken it for a ride (yesterday) so it's abit dirty in the photos sorry! I'm off to clean it shortly then probably regret writing this advert out! For more photos and/or videos please ask.
Chugs along at 50 nicely and ill be sad to see it go! I actually love this bike but storage issues are half forcing the sale but no low ball offers please I can still hang onto it if needed!
This isn't a 40's WLA that's painted up as a civilian, this is a rare bike to have as it was made towards the end of the production of the WL 1 of 1044 made!
Any questions please ask!
No time wasters!
As for picking it up etc. I know a few bike couriers that I can put you in touch with/help you arrange if needed.
Cash on collection or bank transfer please!
Thanks for looking!
