Harley-Davidson 1948 WL

A rare and very original 1948 WL. A genuine WL not a WLA or WLC ex military bike that's been bastardised to look like a genuine WL. Serial number is WL48-33661 see photo.
Was registered when new at Manchester Licensing Office in November 1948. I am advised by Warr Harley Davidson that the bike is rare and you could probably count on one hand the number of similar bikes in the UK. Given its rarity I can't foresee the bike depreciating in value. Has probably been ridden for no more than 100 miles since a complete restoration, some years ago. It's been dry stored under a dust cover in a dry well ventilated garage I have a complete spare gearbox which has been stripped and vapour blasted, together with some other genuine parts These could be available by separate negotiation.
I have decided to sell due my ill health, unfortunately suffered a stroke, so I don't ride anymore I will be as helpful as I possible can be with seriously interested parties.
My computer skills are not good and I ask that interested parties initially telephone me.
I am in the Lake District about 1 1/2 hours drive from Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle and Manchester. Perhaps 3 hours from Birmingham. For interested parties further away I am not too far from the West Coast Main Line and London's about 3 hours away. I am reducing my collection of vehicles due to age and ill health. I can recommend a reliable and competitively priced courier if required.
