Description
Rare, rebuilt, running 1941 Harley-Davidson WLD 45 cubic inch race engine, clear, open Tennessee title complete with Linkert carburetor & HOT Fairbanks Morse magneto.
The engine with title only.
I have a 1946 WR engine going in the bike, so I'm letting the WLD engine go on to you. This engine is built for racing, but it is definitely street rideable. Harley-Davidson only produced 455 WLD sport models in 1941. The WLD was the same as the WLDR Special Sport race model, except the WLD had lights & footboards for street riding. This engine has a legit Harley-Davidson VIN (41WLD5223), with matching line-bore "belly" numbers (41-5186).
The cases have no damage or repairs, original H-D cylinders have no damage or repairs, no broken fins. The heads are aftermarket reproduction 6:1 high compression aluminum heads. Engine is freshly & completely rebuilt by B&B Racing in Metairie, Louisiana. It is built a little loose for racing, has been broken in, and has roughly 140 track miles on it. It has had two oil changes since the rebuild. Cylinders are 0.040" over stock bore, flow ported, with oversized intake valves, enlarged intake spigots with huge, modified KR/WR intake manifold. Camshaft lobes have been replaced with Leineweber racing lobes. Engine starts easily, idles smoothly, responds & revs quickly, & runs very strong- watch & listen to the included video. Carburetor is 3-bolt 1-1/4" Linkert M-344 from Indian Chief. The M-344 bore is 5/16" larger than the commonly used Linkert M-88- that's how much this engine is flowing.
Great for restoration project, street riding, Sons of Speed or The Race of Gentlemen racing. I normally wouldn't let something this good go, but building a 50+hp WR engine is quite expensive. Just pulled out of the bike this week, ready to install & run. NO ISSUES.
I will pack well & ship worldwide. Continental USA shipping is $194.
I use NEXSHIP for Europe, Asia, & Australia. Their rates are fair & affordable.
