1944 Harley-Davidson Other

1944 Harley U model 74ci Flathead Chopper that was recently pulled out of 30 year storage. Engine runs great and starts easily. Cases don't have any damage or repairs and are matching belly numbers. Transmission is a late 1945 dated case as shown and is ratchet top. Frame is original 1944 frame that has been molded with twisted front down tubes. Frame work was nicely done. Bike has been converted to 12v generator with a Bosch regulator. Oil tank and Primary covers are the originals that were chromed. This is a wartime build bike and from some research I did, it was one of 580 U models made for US Navy Shore patrol. This is a great bike, with some great history. It could be restored back to its original WWII glory days or remain as a true time capsule Chopper.
