Description
Very nice original factory stock 1969 Triumph Trophy 500. I'm the second owner, the bike has been stored in an indoors collection for many years. Has new center stand installed. Starts easy when cold 2-3 kicks; do some searching on the web and articles say these were the easiest starting Triumph's of the 1960s, from what I have read it was due to the excellent balance of the motor and the single carburetor used on these 500cc twins. The trophy was designed for off road or a dual purpose with the high pipes and many were converted to desert sleds or off road motorcycles back in the day. This bike is factory stock and not modified. I did add the factory center stand (also has the original side stand) and I replaced the top muffler and have and an additional lower muffler that is brand new that goes with the bike. The tires are in excellent condition and OEM Spec Dunlop K70s but probably for the 1970s (no cracking). Clean title in my name and my hand and current CA street registration, note when the bike was originally purchased in 1969 the DMV made a mistake and misread the last digit of the matching motor and engine numbers so the title states the last digit as a 4 as opposed to a 7. The original owner even noted this on the original cover sheet of the shop manual; original owners manual, original shop manual and maintenance records from the late 1960s and 1970s. Great collector rare model of the early Triumph line. Also so a great rider or show bike.
