Description
1956 T.W.N. Triumph Cornet 195cc with V5C
Here is a rare and interesting restoration project.
A 1956 T.W.N (Triumph Werke Nuremburg) 195cc “Cornet” built in 1956 and first registered in the UK in 1958 as VXU349. The bike comes with original buff log book as well as up to dat V5C doc. The bike has stood for 50 years. It is in need of total restoration but for the most part it appears sound. The engine is seized and will need careful soaking and coaxing apart. Tinware has surface rust but is not rotted out. Fuel tank is very good inside, still has the original German “red-lead” liner. Speedometer will certainly need repair. The bike is basically complete apart from: Toolbox lids, It comes with V5c doc as well as original buff log book. Registration number VXU349 is the original. Date of registration is 26th November 1958. Frame number is 513427, engine number is 513427. The original VIN plaque is intact and in good condition. Registered as Historic Vehicle so road tax will be free and the bike is MOT exempt. Cosmetically the bike is in need of restoration. It has gone a bit too far to simply recommission. Wheel rims and spokes are very poor and need replacing. All in all though this is an amazing little project. A very rare find and a quality little machine well worthy of a proper restoration. Selling for spares / repairs / restoration.
