Description
1955 Triumph T110(rep) 650cc, excellent runner with V5C
Here is a beautiful mid-fifties Triumph, believed to have started life as a T100 but fitted with a 650, T110 type engine. Starts easily and sounds great. It does need a little warming up as there is no choke.
The engine is mechanically quiet and there's no smoke or strange noises. Gears and clutch are all good and braking is very good. This bike had been nicely set up but probably not used in anger for a while. The dynamo is working well and the charging system all good. The Smith's 120mph speedo works well. The bike has a lovely comfy feel, it's almost like you sit in it! Handling is good and you feel this bike could cover some mileage as an ideal beefy 650 classic for 2-up club runs etc. There is a V5C registration doc, registration is 879 XWA.
Date of registration is 7th May 1955. Frame number is 65061, this looks to be the original factory stamping, engine number is T100 65062 (this has apparently been re-stamped to match the V5C but is clearly a 650 engine.)
The bike is registered as a 650. The bike is registered for historic class (free) road tax and is MOT exempt. Cosmetically the bike is in beautiful but not absolutely perfect or as new condition. Age is showing slightly on the frame's enamel. It is very sound and generally very good but older looking on close inspection. Tank and guards have been painted and pinstriped to a very high standard. They are all in really good condition with only one or two very light minor marks. The tank is good inside and has not been linered or “pet-sealed”. Wheel rims are both CWC stainless steel items whereas spokes are plated original type all as new. Front tyre is an unworn but very old looking Dunlop ribbed. Rear is very good practically as new Avon SM MKII. There is no fin damage on the engine. Both exhaust down pipes have very good chrome but left side one does have a tiny dint in the top curve. Left silencer is quite tarnished with flecks in it, the right side one is not too bad at all though. Seat is very good. Good side & centre stands fitted.
All in all this is a very pretty, typical 1950's Triumph. OK not matching numbers but still an eye-catching nice classic to ride and use and enjoy this coming Spring & Summer. Selling as a good runner which needs to be used and enjoyed. Please note: THERE IS NO VAT and no other additional fees, (apart from delivery fees if you want it to be delivered)
