Description
1936 Triumph L2/1 250cc.
It was the decade of the Great Depression. Designer Val Page moved from Ariel to Triumph in 1932, designing an excellent range of new motorcycles, including the 'light 250 cc model.
Many of the cycle parts of this model were interchangeable with the 350 and 500cc models - Depression rationalisation on the Triumph motorcycle production line.
The 250 was 'a very good motorcycle' - it had a unique integrally forged flywheel and mainshaft set up, which made the engine 'very powerful and reliable'. The L2/1 became a popular competition machine.
Here is your opportunity to own one of these classic Triumph motorcycles.
Engine number:1.L6.2752. Frame number: L.2823. The bike is 'as collected'.
It has been sitting in shed storage, as is, for over 10 years.
The bike appears to have been used in competition - metal plates have been drilled to lighten bike weight. A copy of the spare parts manual is included (image). The bike is incomplete (images). Many of the cycle parts were shared with period Triumph models.
This bike is sold on an 'as is / where is' basis with all faults. It is sold for parts or as the basis for a restoration project.
There is no warranty expressed or implied. There are no refunds. Images form part of the description. The bike has been sitting in storage, unused for many years.
