Description
Here we have a 1949 rigid frame 350cc twin cylinder Triumph 3T, for restoration.
This is the first year featuring the nacelle headlight. The motor will need a full rebuild as the bigends failed when I was riding it decades ago. Motor was still running but with a dreadful knock. As it has been sitting since then for over 50 years the motor no longer turns over. The clutch still operates. The gearbox still cycles through the gears and kicks through.
Forks still travel up and down.
Magneto still has spark as I had it out using it in another bike and have reinstalled it.
Brakes still operate. The throttle even still works. Even still has the pump on the chainguard but not sure if it is original.
Horn is still there inside headlight.
Exhaust system has rusted out over the years. Speedo glass is smashed, these chronometric speedos can be rebuilt, ammeter needle has fallen off but is still inside it, don't know if they are repairable. Fuel cap is not seized and still works and petrol tank looks pretty good inside from what I can see of it. Rear brake pedal is bent but repairable, rear stand is bent but repairable, clutch lever is bent probably needs replacing. Front guard is a bit knocked around.
Front rim doesn't seem too bad but back rim the chrome is peeling badly so don't know if it is salvageable. Some screws are missing from the headlight.
Petrol tank is missing all the mounting rubbers, washers and two bolts.
Seat covering is badly deteriorated but still has manufacturers badge. The head has one broken fin but still have the pieces for repairing it.
I have tried to give as much information as possible and the photos form part of the description. Please feel free to ask for any more information.
