1948 Triumph Speed Twin

After the Second World War production of the Speed Twin began in 1947 but now with telescopic forks and a sprung rear hub. This matching number early production model was imported from South Africa to the UK in 2005 where it had been owned and restored by a Triumph Owners Club member for some seven years. Having had three UK owners the bike is supplied with a number of bills for parts dating 2010/11 which indicate it was fitted with a new clutch among other general service items. It is also supplied with a dating later from the TMOC.
The bike remains in generally very good cosmetic order and appears to retain many original components. The fuel tank does however a few small dents on the left hand side. It is in good running condition. The motor pulls well with no smoke and is easy to start. This is a very nice example of an early post War Speed twin. an older restoration but still a very presentable and very collectable motorcycle. It is UK road registered with a V5C logbook.
