Original UK bike with a bit of history, as follows:

Registered 02/05/1980. The first owner never met the first HP payment and handed the bike back almost straight away. He only owned it for two weeks and had done just 14 miles!

On 20/05/1980, it was bought by a gentleman who has kept it since. The sales invoice is included with the sale. So, although the V5 shows one previous owner, in reality, it has only ever had one owner, who gave me the following info:

- The bike has never let him down, other than a broken clutch cable.
- The engine is on its original bore and valves, does not smoke, or make any nasty mechanical noises.
- Had one 10mph 'off' on ice—the only accident it has ever had. That was at 15k miles, hence the heavier sand-cast alternator cover.
- Cam chain and primary chain replaced as they are a service item at 15k miles.
- Exhaust replaced, as the original collector boxes and silencers had rotted (original downpipes are included).
- Seat is original, covered in red leather in the pictures, but I have since had it recovered (will post more pics soon).
- Original handbook included.
- Most of the MOTs from 1984 to 1996 come with the bike, confirming the mileage.
- Matching-numbers bike (683*).

Unused for many years. I bought it in early 2012 with the intention of recommissioning, sorting out the cosmetics, and getting it on the road. I did not put it in my name, so it still shows one previous owner.

Last Christmas, I:
- Removed the carbs and ultrasonically cleaned them.
- Put in fresh oil, and she fired up straight away—sounded great!
- Then put it back in the garage and never touched it again.

Perhaps it's time to let someone with more time finish her off.

A rare UK bike with so few owners and genuine low miles!
