Description
If you want a Triumph 650 this is the one to have according to the magazines; It is similar to the Bonneville but with a single carburettor therefore easier starting and less fussy running. 1970 is also said to be the best year to have.
This bike came into my possesion as the result of a deal when I recently sold my 1100cc BMW. As I already have a Triumph and because of my advancing years I need to sell it on.
The first registration in the V5C is 05-03-1976. I was told it was an American re-import. The "H" suffix on the number plate and the documentation I have supports this. The previous owner who. like myself is mature. had it for 11 years.
The engine and frame numbers are matching and are as per the V5C. The engine number background on the crankcase is a series of Triumph logos therefore the number is genuine.
Please note that :-
It starts easily. first or second kick.
It is a very sweet runner and the most mechanically quiet Triumph I have ever heard.
The charging system and all the electrics are working fine.
The British tyres have 5mm left and there is no cracking of the walls. The wheel rims have good chrome.
Siamese pipes with good chrome are fitted.
Correct twin leading shoe front brake.
No tears or damage to the seat which has a steel base.
Boyer electronic ignition is fitted.
Speedo and tacho both are correct and work fine. Speedo shows 10.005 miles.
This is an honest bike that has not been started up for sale therefore to make it immaculate further work is required.
It is taxed and has an mot.
It is ready to ride away.
I would like you to come and inspect the bike for yourself. The bike is located in South Hampshire at SO32 1DS. Cash on collection. I may be able to help with delivery over a reasonable distance for the cost of the fuel. Good luck and thanks for reading this epistle.
