Description
BSA Blue Star 350cc 1934 model year. first registered December 1933
I bought this Blue Star just over a year ago with the intention of getting it running and using it rather than restoring it. The nice thing about it is that it is all there and quite a lot of work has been done on the cycle parts to get them to a functional level. Other stuff has got in the way and it is now time to pass it on to a new owner.
The rolling chassis is very good and the spokes and wheel rims are new along with the tyres and seats. The front forks will need refurbishing as the bushes are siezed (in fact BSA may nt have used bushes - I can't recall) - I had a estimate of around £300 for this from a specialist.
The gearbox was gummed up - I have fully dismantled and cleaned it and it now changes nicely. The engine can be easily turned over by hand and the big end feels tight. I have had it apart and the valves are good and everything's there.
I have fully reassembled the bike but left the clutch and drive chains off so that the engine and gearbox operation can be demonstrated. All the components are included with the sale.
There is no spark from the mag. and some wiring will be needed.
This is MOT exempt and qualifies for free road tax. It has a current V5 in my name and the old brown registration document with road fund dtamps from 1952 to 1962. The black and white photo shows the bike at some point in its 80 years of life.
