Vintage 1934 BSA 350cc Blue Star Project. V5C. Pre War girders

1933 BSA 350cc Blue Star.
V5C present. Original number transferrable which is VV 1052 which is originally a Northamptonshire area registration number. Tax and MOT exempt at this age, but still listed as a motorcycle in the tax class so that will need updating to historic.
The bike is loosely assembled and a project where someone has made a start and run out of steam. The wheels and tank have been restored, but so long ago the wheels are showing a little pitting now despite never seeing action. The tank is still good. The exhausts look new. The engine turns over. The engine frame and gearbox do not look to have had any attention as such. It has new tyres fitted. The headlight is new. It is plonked together to show what is there.
Obviously for those of you who know the Pre War BSA range, the "stars" were always the top of the range sports models. First was the Blue Stars, which changed to the Empire Stars for a few years and then more famously was renamed as Gold Stars. You can see this has the Blue Star emblem still on the timing cover guaranteeing that this was good for at least 75 mph which out of a 350cc machine in the early 1930s was pretty good. These often had twin port heads and high level pipes very much in the ISDT (International six days trial) mould. When they are restored these are extremely attractive machines.
This project still has a long way to go, but is a really good start. What you see is what you get, there is no more too it than what is shown.
