Description
Here is for sale my much-loved 850 Norton. It's a 1976 model with about 50k on the clock but that's largely academic as it's had a rebuild during my time of ownership and lots of it has been renewed. I have the original bill of sale from Thruxton Motorcycle Company to the original purchaser and there have only ever been three owners of this bike. It goes without saying that the engine number and frame number match.
The machine is regularly used and is taxed until 30 Nov 2014 and MOTd until 11 August 2014. It's an awesome ride and turns heads wherever it goes.
The bike is by no means concourse. however. as I said it is used weekly regardless of the weather. if I were to keep it I would certainly do a few titivations such as replacing the wiring loom and perhaps refitting the electric starter system.
There are also a couple of tiny indentations on the upper left side of the fuel tank which have never bothered me but might niggle you. There is also a small lug missing from the bottom of the frame which you might require to have replaced. though. once again. it has never bothered me. It has the Mikuni single-carb conversion and the rebore of the front master cylinder has also been done which helps the original brake immensely.
It has electronic ignition and power box along with a 300 watt generator. Whilst not fitted to the machine.
I do have the original starter motor but it will require refurbishment. I have fitted pea-shooters but you can also have the original silencers if you want them. I'll also give you the original Amals and air box if you want to convert back to original spec. I'll also throw in the official Norton spare parts book and workshop manual together with the Haynes equivalent.
If you are about 6 foot tall with a chest of approx. 44 inches. you might also like to consider my leather Norton jacket - I thought it went really well with the bike. I've also got loads of "Roadholders" - that's the official Norton Owners Club monthly magazine and a couple of cracking hard back books about Norton twins.
Cash on collection only please. thanks.
