After World War 2 BSA were quick to restart production of civilian machines and as early as August 1945 BSA announced a four model programme. An all-new machine within that range was the ZB31. an overhead valve single of 350cc capacity with a rugged design. The ZB32 announced early in 1946 was the competition version of that ZB31 bike with an all-new sporting appearance. high level exhaust system and much chrome plating. The new B32 Competition was tested off-road by Motor Cycling magazine. emerging with flying colours. The model remained in production from 1947 to 1957.
The bike starts easily and ticks over nicely without any nasty rattles or knocks. Oil pressure is good and there is no smoke. The engine has new big end bearings fitted and a Gold star piston. It will require running in as it has only done a few shakedown miles. The gearbox and clutch work fine. The gearing can lowered further for competion use as there is a smaller final drive sprocket included in then sale I believe the gearbox is the original. The Magneto and the Dynamo have been rebuilt with new pick-ups and armatures. A new electronic regulator. a new cloth covered wiring harness new battery and carrier. It has a new Amal Concentric carb fitted the bike also comes with the original carb. The Frame has been stripped to bare metal primed and painted in 2 pack. The chrome on the tank is perfect. Wheel rims are good with new rear and stainless spokes. The chrome is good on the mud guards and primary chain case. The original oil tank is fitted with the cut out for the up swept exhaust. It has new handlebars. levers. throttle and switch gear. I have over a thousand pounds in receipts for parts. To summarise the bike is a good useable classic that can be rode as well as shown.
