Description
Norton Commando - 20M3 Roadster
This bike was manufactured and exported to America in July 1968 (Norton Owners Club verification) there aren't any records of what model it was exported as but the side panels have the 750 S transfer. The bike was re-imported in 1992 in the current flat-track style and given an age related plate. Both frame and engine numbers match and are between the 1968 start number (124000) and the 1969 start number (130000) - the engine number starts with the norton distributor model designation 20M3.
The bike comes with the following MOT history:
Aug 2003 - 13801
April 2005 - 13969
May 2006 - 14625
April 2007 - 14783
May 2008 - 15471
June 2009 - 15806
May 2010 - 16124
June 2011 - 16659
Aug 2012 - 16885
Jan 2014 - 16900
The current mileage is not verifiable but looking at the overall condition of the bike it could well be correct. The bike has aluminium flanged wheels with new Dunlop TT100 tyres. brakes are good old Norton drums! Paintwork is superb a deep red with a hint of gold metalflake when it's sunny. chromework is generally good and the bike rides and pulls well and starts 1st/2nd kick.
It sounds like a Norton should!
Tax is FREE on these classic bikes and the current disc expires at the end of May 2014.
Overall a lovely Classic Norton which will increase in value and put a smile on your face whether you ride it or just admire its looks.
It is 46 years old so there are some wear marks - spares availability through either Norton Andover or Norvil is excellent - you can revert it to it's 1968 look or ride it away as it is.
The V5 is in my name - if you want it exported I'm happy to help - but you must arrange your own courier. Balance of cash on collection - if you want a test ride £6k cash deposit :-)
Thanks for looking.
