Description
Are you looking for a serious collector's bike?
Then look no further than my RC45 currently up for grabs. First let's get into a little background for those not so familiar with the RVF750R. so bear with me. In 1994. the beloved RC30 was near the end of its prime against other superbikes and Honda needed an answer quick. Since the World Endurance and IOM TT series were being held to Superbike rules. Honda's RVF750 race bikes needed homologating in order for it to continue racing. It was out of this that the RC45 was spawned. In 1994. 200 RVF750Rs were produced world-wide with 50 making their way to the States and some 20 or so bikes being immediately delivered to private race teams. You do the maths on that one. Limited number of bikes + 18 years - wrecked bikes = rare. RC45's definitely have the edge over the RC30 in the production numbers argument.
In standard European trim. the RC45 was cranking out 118 horsepower at the back wheel. Honda also dropped full-blown race kits for the RC45 at the time of its release. With most homologations. its street prowess meant nothing to Honda as it was intended to win races. not negotiate potholes. On the street. the RC45 wasn't much better than the RC30. But on the track it had way more potential with its modern parts. However. the RC45 never achieved the level of racing success as the RC30 did in its time.
This is my RC45 that has only ever been a road bike. showing 9827 kms which is 6106 miles. I've owned the bike for two/three years and have done about 100 miles on it. The bike is kept indoors in a heated room. as photographed. I was going to turn it into a Classic Superbike for the track but decided it was too nice.
The bike is a standard road bike. The bike comes with the standard Honda paddock stand which is only not shown in the photo's because it is being used for another bike in the garage.
Not particularly keen on selling this rare item that according to MCN there are only 30 of remaining in the UK. either taxed or sorned. But needs must as my classic race bikes have a big appetite for unobtainium parts at ridiculous prices. my loss is therefore someone else's gain.
Of course you can bet that this bike won't be given away. but for a reasonable price compared to others that have advertised recently on Motorcycles-for-sale you could own something that is sure to only rise in value. if the bike doesn't reach its price I'll happily just keep it. More higher-resolution pictures are available to potential buyers and I will run a Youtube video should it be so required.
