I have owned this bike for 15 months. It is in very good condition but not showroom clean. The bike has been regularly used during my ownership but had only done 4000 km when I bought it.
I use the bike regularly for my 80 mile daily commute and it is reliable and great fun. A real head turner and now really sought after owing to its rarity.
This is a big valve model with 40mm carbs and is to the best of my knowledge absolutely original apart from the addition of some stainless steel luggage rings as can be seen from the photos.
I have ridden this bike to Nurburgring and Isle of Man and Le Mans and would not hesitate to embark on extended trips. with full confidence in its reliability.
There are a couple of minor blemishes which I have tried to show in the photos. There is a small scratch on the fuel cap cover caused by a tank bag. There is a burn mark on the exhaust where my heel touches the pipe. This will polish out but keeps reappearing The worst mark is some slight lifting of the paintwork on the top of one side panel. I previously owned a 1990 1000S and the paint also lifted on the side panel on that bike. no idea why. perhaps my leg rubs it as I ride.
Not a bike for the shy and retiring. I get stopped all the time and asked all sorts of questions. It is a really involving ride and was an absolute dream in the fast sweeping bends of the Eifel mountains in Germany on the way to Nurburgring where. in a bizarre turn of events. I found myself chasing a police motorbike at crazy speeds (not being chased but chasing) !
I have a small amount of service history and old MOT certificates. The bike is in daily use so can be ridden away or collected in a van whichever is the most convenient. I am located in Exeter. Devon.
Please enjoy the pictures and dreaming is free and encouraged.
I will be happy to answer any questions either by e-mail or phone.
