Description
Moto Guzzi 1000 S - Rare Motorbike 1992 Special Endurance Version Delivery at Cost
Four hundred and eighty kilometers from new only. OK, it's back and running after twenty years. MOTed. Serviced. This bike has been unused since 1992.
It is back from having the storage issues corrected and is recommissioned, ready for riding. New oils, filters, and MOT.
Buy a very, very rare bike (believed four like this ever sold in the UK). One owner from new and hardly used due to lack of time. The Moto Guzzi 1000S bikes are really sought after now, and this one is particularly rare.
Moto Guzzi 1000S - Rare and Unique Bike!
A 1992 Endurance Special built by the factory for the UK market and for its importers 3X Cross Motorcycles Dorset, the then Guzzi importer.
Moto Guzzi 1000S Endurance Race Special 1992 Final Edition (Le Mans Endurance Commemorative).
This is a fully faired 1000S with wired Akront alloys. It cost £9K new in 1992. One of three, if not the only one in the UK, which will be a blue-chip investment now. The other Three Cross 1000S all had bikini fairings only, in the half "Le Mans style fairing." It took all the best elements of Le Mans racers and sought to create a machine to compete with the MV Augusta and Magni of the time. These bikes were bright red from the factory, and this is not a black or green bike painted. It came this colour from the factory.
This is the full UK 1000S specification: 82 BHP, 5 Speed, 150 MPH. Front floating discs 270mm, rear disc 270mm.
Full fairing and Akront light alloys. 100/90 V18 Twin 40mm Dellortos. Front Guzzi spring adjustable preloads. Rear Konis. Front Bitubos. It has the tuning developed for the Le Mans 1000 introduced in 1984, but with B10 cams. The 1992 version fits the square-fin 949cc twin with a dual-point distributor, 40mm Dellortos, and the B10 camshaft. 10:1 compression ratio. 86 HP @ 8000 rpm was claimed by the factory.
One owner. Original bills and delivery sheet. As close to new as you will get!
Time warp: 476 km from new. Yes, really, one owner. Original invoices, pre-delivery logbook, etc.
Bike was generally as new except it was not wonderfully stored these last few years:
Currently just been serviced and MOT'ed. New battery and starter (due to leaky battery).
New fly screen (previously damaged by adjoining bike resting on it).
The R/H side panel has a paint flake on the edge, and we are undecided whether to repair.
Delivery at cost after suitable deposit or full payment. You get a proper receipt, logbook, keys, manual, etc.
Very serious enquiries only. There are lots of cheap Guzzis around, so please look at those if that's what you want. Indeed, there are lots of cheap new and almost new Guzzis.
This is a chance to buy what you couldn't buy in the 1990s. Very cheap to run, easy to maintain, and in my opinion, much more reliable than the Hailwood replica I owned. This sold for more money and had done 30,000 miles. This bike is a time warp, almost brand new.
