Description
Yamaha RD350LC
This bike is something very special.
This is probably the most original, unrestored, unmolested, totally standard RD350LC you will ever see, and the pictures don't really do the bike justice. If you're genuinely interested, then please look at any other bikes first to fully appreciate how good this bike really is :)
I have had many RDs over the years and have been an RD club member/enthusiast for some years (I still am), but I have never seen a more original and honest-looking RD350LC than this one, even at club/member meets.
The bike is a genuine 4LO in every aspect, and the exhaust pipes are the best I have ever seen, being totally dent, scratch, and rust-free and still in their original factory black finish, not repainted.
I bought the bike from another RD enthusiast. He was the original importer/owner, who did so well over 10 years ago and stored it in his heated garage until 2007 when he eventually registered it to ride it, hence no previous keepers on the V5. He assured me the bike has never seen rain.
Once imported, the bike had perfect MPH clocks fitted, which were mileage-adjusted to match the original KPH of 13,000 at that time.
As you can see, over the last 7 years, the mileage is still very low for a 33-year-old bike.
The bike has had the following:
- UK rear mudguard/reflector
- New tyres
- NOS UK headlamp
- NOS clutch plates
- NOS carb complete inners x2
- MPH clocks
The bike did have 2 very tiny chips in the paint and a very small dent on the left-hand side of the tank, about the size of a 5p, but it definitely does not warrant having the tank painted in my opinion. I have touched in the chips with great results. All the original olive parts and clips are still there, and the bike still looks and runs like it did 33 years ago. Because the owner never had any reason to take the engine apart, I would guess that with the mileage, it could still be running on standard bores too, and the sound and ride would also suggest the same.
I have taxed the bike for 12 months and also had the MOT done with no advisories. The bike has the all-important matching numbers, V5C, and original German paperwork. It comes with 2 Yamaha keys (the same key fits the tank, cap, and seat), and a separate steering lock key, which is correct for a German bike.
I took the pictures after a 200-mile ride out last Sunday, so please excuse the dirty bike, but I can assure anyone interested that the bike is stunning when clean. Please study the pictures very closely, as I think the original condition and specification of this bike speak volumes compared to many of the overpriced "badly restored" RD350LCs I have seen for similar or even more money over the years.
I do have the bike advertised in my local bike shop.
As this bike is ready to show and ride this summer (I love both), I am in no hurry to sell.
