BSA ROCKET GOLD STAR
This machine was manufactured in 1962 and supplied on 12th November 1962. according to the BSA VMCC records. to Hap Alzina in the USA. This motorcycle was purchased in Miami during 2007. was stripped and sent back to the UK. where it was the subject of a total restoration during 2011.
This machine was totally rebuilt in our workshops from a bare frame up. The frame was blasted and then painted. the forks were rebuilt using new brass bushes & seals. Correct new touring spec headlight brackets were fitted and a Lucas headlight. ammeter and switch. The rev counter and speedometer were rebuilt. The petrol tank. tool box. oil tank & rear number plate were all restored and repainted. New chrome chain guard. front & rear mudguards were fitted. New shock absorbers were fitted. The Dunlop wheels were restored and rebuilt. brakes linings renewed where required and new bearings fitted. new tyres and tubes. All cables on the machine were replaced with new. The standard spec touring gearbox and clutch were overhauled with bearings and seals being replaced as required. The engine was stripped. crankshaft was checked & overhauled with new shims fitted. oilways cleaned and oil pump restored. New barrel and pistons. Cylinder head was checked. cleaned. valves fitted where found to be OK. new collets & spring fitted and valve timing done. The magneto and dynamo were overhauled by APL Magnetos. The original Amal carburetor was overhauled in our workshop and a new carburetor main jet fitted. new clips. fuel pipes and taps fitted. New two into one siamese exhaust system fitted. The seat was newly restored Gold Star type. The touring handlebars and controls were all new. Fitted with main stand. The motorcycle was started and checked over for leaks and performance.
