Description
This is a 1936 Indian Sports Scout which is a 750cc side valve V-Twin. This bike has its V5C present and is taxed to the end of next March. The log book states historic and its on a none transferrable reg. number.
The bike is in mint condition having being the subject of a professional restoration which cost the best part of £9000 10 years ago by a leading Indian specialist restorer. The file contains the bill detailing the costs and the work all appears to be faultless. Everything works as it should and this is the finished article which is looking for a new home. This model is pretty rare in this country and is one of the more sort after Indian models. The owner is looking for a cash sale or he is always interested in interesting. oddball or unique bikes from the vintage period.
Viewing is welcome. Collection is preferred. although I can arrange delivery within the mainland UK for £100.
I have read some of the file relating to the restoration and would like to list some of the additional points that have come out of this which I am sure you will be interested in:
1: It has a 1938 oil pump fitted instead of the 36 which is apparently a lot better pump.
2: Its foot operated clutch.
3: The first gear was found to be weak when the bike was bought. so a brand new first gear was fitted.
4: Un-leaded valve seats.
5: Battery master switch fitted to disconnect battery when not in use.
6: 12 volt coils fitted.
7: The bike is charging good.
8: Bonneville cams and lifters fitted to liberate more power from the engine which was an option in 1936 according to these notes.
9: Bores were standard.
10: Carb is from a 1941 sports scout which is larger bore (Chief size).
Anybody seriously interested in buying this bike will be interested in that information. I am sure.
