Harley-Davidson 1964 Servicar

Sadly now offered for sale is my wife's 1964 GE SERVICAR. She can no longer enjoy riding it due to illness.
Imported from Holland by us in 2005 and registered in this country with an age related No plate. We have all the documents from Holland with regards to the import. Comes complete with a custom built trailer (see picture) and a boot full of spares. also comes with two new Avon square profile tires. old MOT expired 26th March 2014.
Fully running vehicle in Indianapolis police spec with working lights and siren. can be driven on a car licence as long as you have B1 category. Would make an ideal display vehicle for a dealership. She was born on the 26th of Sept 1963 (conformation letter from Harley-Davidson) but is classed as a 1964 mode. First year they were fitted with electric start. We bought her from long time friends of ours in Holland Mark and Jennie. They had owned her for over fifteen years and she had belonged to Jennie. Jennie had ridden her all over Europe and even to the International Harley rally in Greece. They were advised by the previous owner that he had imported it from the U. S. A and it had been a police bike in the Indianapolis area. Although not fitted it came with the lights and siren. In 1995 they set about restoring it to full police spec and this took a couple of years. Any parts they could not find new or second hand were made by by Marks father. he also made the trailer.
She is a 750cc side valve with a 3 speed gearbox fitted with reverse. foot clutch and hand gear change. the boot is as big as some small cars have. and we have had camping gear and all sorts in it. On top of the box is a second seat. She has a foot operated rear brake system and a handlebar front brake lever which also acts as a parking brake. the siren operates of the front wheel via a lever on the left side of the handle bars and is like the old dynamo system for lights on a pushbike. pull the lever in and the siren winds up. playing with the lever allows you to change the tone up and down. (just like in the old American police movies) She is the most fun bike I have ever ridden. and both me and the wife have grinned from ear to ear every time we had ridden it. We are sorry to think of her going but she needs to be out there and being used and enjoyed. As I have said we feel she would make an ideal vehicle for a dealership or business.
Ok the bad points: she has a round profile tire fitted on the front. this doe's make the front end wobble a little when changing gear. but this is easily handled. My wife had never ridden a bike or trike in her life before we got this baby and she used to run around on it without any issues. to change back to the square profile Avon tires would mean a new drive cog being made for the siren. the current one is designed for the round profile tire. The front crash bars are not original and cosmetic at the moment. Replacements are readily available on ebay or from America.
The fuel tap has a slight leak but I have a brand new one ready to be fitted and she could possibly do with new gaskets on the oil pump as there is slight weeping.
The only reason we have not done some of the work on her has been my wife's illness and my job which entails long hours.
The asking is £13995. 00 but we are willing to discuss sensible offers. We are happy to deal with anyone outside the country with a genuine interest. Please do not waste our time and we will not waste yours. This is a reluctant sale but we are not desperate. We want her to go to a good home were she will be as loved and enjoyed as much as she has been with us.
