Description
1964 Harley Davidson FLH Panhead
This motorcycle has had only three previous owners, all of them from our area. It has a clean correct VIN number as seen in the photos, and a clear Harley Davidson title in the sellers name. The bike has been kept together since it left the factory in 1964. The only parts that did not come from the factory when purchased are those that were replaced over the years and the obvious accessories.
There are approximately 80 miles on the engine since completely overhauled. It has a stock cam, and pistons are .040 over. The original oil pump drive gears were replaced with Shovelhead gears for increased oil volume. The heads were upgraded to hardened seats in 1980 for unleaded gasoline. It still has the original timer with manual advance and the stock Linkert M74 carb with original strainer, air cleaner cover. backing plate, and linkage. The generator and electrical system has been upgraded to 12 volts.
The motor has matching belly numbers and correct date codes on the heads and the cylinders. The frame and swing arm are dated correct with no visible repairs on either.
The rear fender, oil tank, seat pan, seat tee, gas tanks and dash are all original. The wiring harness is original and all the clips and fasteners are in place. The speedometer is aftermarket. 99% of the nuts, bolts, screws, pins etc. are all original. The complete front end including the damper is original except the fender. The hand controls, foot controls, handlebars, light switches, lights, horn, mousetrap and linkage are all original. I have a neck lock key but no ignition key. The numbers are still readable on the ignition so a replacement key can be made by most locksmiths.
The head pipes, S pipe, Y pipe and crossover pipe including clamps and brackets are stock. The mufflers are aftermarket.
The tires are Carlisle with good tread, and the paint and the leather seat and bags are custom, approximately 40 years old.
Overall it is a solid easy starting bike that rides shifts and stops well. With a manual, toolkit and a few spare parts I'd ride it anywhere.
So I've done my best to describe this and nothing has been omitted or left out intentionally. Having said that, mistakes do happen so look at the pictures carefully and make your own judgement. If you need any more pictures or have any questions please message me. I'll respond quickly.
