Description
Reluctantly I am selling my SX200 replica due to not using it enough and total loss of interest in the scootering scene. My dad has retired now due to ill health but before that (after he officially retired from Jaguar) he used to restore scooters here www.scooter-alchemy.co.uk.
My dad built the scooter. Chalky at Replay Scooters built the engine.
Over the past 7 years he's restored upwards of 40 scooters and then sold them (kept him busy after my mum died) So as you can imagine I had the pick of the litters so to speak.
I have owned my beloved SX200 (replica) since 2010. and have not yet broken through the 1000 miles barrier. only managing about 200 miles/year. I even went to the IOW scooter rally last year and never rode it - my mate rode it all weekend! and got lots of compliments I should add.
Summer's coming and I know I'll prefer to ride my 1982 Kawasaki GPZ750 again this year. - hence the sale.
This scooter has had everything thrown at it. the engine is an RB20 built on an SX150 engine but registered as 125. It was built by the renowned engine master Chalky at Replay Scooters and has 25HP (dyno print out to prove) I have had a true (satnav) 90mph out of it.
It cruises at 70 mph so I have NEVER had to thrash it. I look after my stuff. You can see it running here (before it was completed restored as an SX200) :
It's got every conceivable goodie and was restored/rebuilt/repainted in white last year the week before the IOW scooter rally so it's still in mint condition. There's loads I could tell you about this and loads I've forgot but here goes
Spec:
- 6-digit number plate (D), correct year for SX200
- Registered in 1966 simply as Lambretta 125 (not an import)
- Tax exempt
- High-quality front (SX200) hydraulic disc brake (can be converted back to reverse pull)
- RB20 engine built on SX150 (£3000 build cost) – 25 HP
- Low fuel warning light (Cambridge Lambretta)
- TMX 35 carb
- Fat Mamba top-of-the-range exhaust (£400)
- Long-range tank
- Guilari seat
- Sports tyres
- Will have 12 months MOT when sold
I'm in Rugby if you want to view it.
Any questions please ask.
Don't take the p*ss out of the mirror. it can be removed. but you do need it when cruising at 70mph.
This is a reluctant sale so. NO OFFERS!
P.S. If you're one of those scooterists who thinks he knows it all. well so do I so don't start :-)
