Honda Goldwing 1500 EML Trike

Welcome to my sale of this 1991 Honda Goldwing EML Bermuda Trike in Burgundy. a Colin Appleyard conversion. renowned for style and quality and not just a bolt on kit

The donor bike was a 1989 model registered in 1991. What year it was converted I do not know. The bike has currently covered approx. 77400 miles but is still in use and this may go up.

Condition of the bike can be described as good to very good. but please appreciate this is a 24 year old bike and has its fair share of scratches and age related chrome degeneration. I will try and show in photographs any particular problem area. Do not expect perfect. because it isn't. but it is good.

I have just had a full service. oils. filters. fluids. plugs. brakes etc. and repairs done to a few additional lights etc. but there are one or two minor problems still to be sorted. Cruise Control ECU needs replacing and windscreen wiper motor is US and currently cant find a replacement. Other bits to mention. I am being totally honest here. there are so many good bits I wont bother. but the not so good bits not already mentioned are as follows.

It has a CB Radio. never worked out how to use it or even if it works in this country. but its there and it powers up.

It has a CD player. was told by the previous owner that it works. but I have never even bothered to try and use it. but its there with a multi-changer in the top box. I just listen to the engine sound. just love it.

It has a tape player and that works. but you know what great sound quality you get from them.

It has a radio. never bothered with it. can preset stations.

It has the rare wood grain effect dash. the area nearest the riders crotch has a piece that has lifted and broken off. the rest is slightly faded except for the main console where it glows.

There is a ring of fire in the front wheel assembly. not currently wired in.

Slight marking to r/h side fairing where a sticker has come off. can easily replaced with. another sticker

The Bermuda conversion is an excellent package and this trike was fitted with an Opel Record back axle. This gives the trike a lower gearing than most. Therefor the trike will accelerate very quick. has a brilliant exhaust note to boot. but the mpg and top speed are reduced. I expect generally to get 25mpg from it ridden sensibly. Top speed is 90mph pushing it. but this trike is one to ride and enjoy and spend a lot of time waving to passers by especially kids and front seat passengers on the motorway whilst cruising at 65 to 70.

The front wheel has been changed to a car type tyre. ie flat surface. and the front forks have been uprated with additional springs and a steering damper. This is very easy to steer and has good control. Better than remaining with a bike type tyre.

There are other additional lights. red to each side of the fairing. large spots to the front on cross bar. small spots either side of the engine casing. There is also lights on the rear topbox and underneath the rear top box.

Have toured to France with it and passengers find it extremely comfortable. Plenty of luggage space and has top box rack as well.

The trike number plate when sold will be reverted to J840HHD. I will not be doing this until it is definitely sold and I understand putting numbers on retention with DVLA may take up to two weeks.

All stickers. cuddly toys etc. will be carefully removed prior to your collection.
