Description
Fabulous example of a Triton. and has lots of hand made parts. and no expense spared to make useable in all respects. So is show and go.
Built by engineer Ken Kendal. so spot a multitude of detail parts you just cannot buy. and note the finished product looks like a proper bike. not just an amalgam of shiny pattern parts. Have had over 400 bikes to date and loads of Brit stuff then and now. Most were rubbish. that was why we went down the toilet (except for Triumphs and 961 of course ). Mainly play with Triumph 900/1200 and modified Harleys now.
The good old bits are featherbed wideglide Norton frame. bike on a tax exempt 1969 Norton. plus the later 750 unit Bonnie with 5 speed box and the later Amal carbs (more like Jap ones to be fair).
Yokes. pedals and footrest hangers. binnacle etc. one-offs. Eccentric chain adjusters to handmade swing arm. 16 inch beefy alloys with 120 front and 140 rear. New Avons. Hagon long gas shocks. Hinkley adjustable forks but Kwacker lowers and brakes. Nissin rear disc with more parts to suit. This bike was built as a serious contender. Could easily take clocks off and track it tomorrow. One piece megga exhaust to tuned length. Twin taps full flow to both carbs. Beautifully crafted central oil tank. Two small dinks in lovbely alloy fuel tank down to too much stuff in my garage! Keep getting too many bikes then having to slim down.
All electrics are totally now as opposed to yesterday. No battery required. One ignition switch. and one light switch hidden under rear of tank. Whole bike is made of new or handmade or blueprinted parts. Pics speak more than any lists.
There is also a hand crafted clamp comes with bike to match the binnacle and yokes to take standard bars. so can fit straights or factory Bonnie bars whatever. They are standard 7/8". and all cables will work provided you don't go too wide of course. The Paoli clip ons are not quite as old school as normal but are very adjustable. I have them quite high up. in fact they will go slightly higher. If put down below the headlamp brackets they are quite natty as they then come up past the lamp-clamp. and can get them actually covering. so looks like lamp coming from the bars. they not cheap. not much is on the bike. Check the wheel rims etc. Any odd little fiddly bit has been made to make a factory finish. comparing the 961 to a 99 is a bit the same as comparing this to an original 99/T140 !
I have to sell two bikes with kick starts and two lowrider chops as back refuses to co-operate with all my 19 bikes at the moment. Have a 1340 fat end chop and a hardtail Suzuki to go. plus a Rickman 750. same engine as this one. Put them on soon. Will attempt to get a new MOT as soon as i can get to start the bike to get it the 20 miles to test station! If want to come and view please do. Bring your right leg with you as well! I can only do a kick start on a good day!
Balance by bank transfer or cash on collection etc. Not got a clue as to value as have seen baskets of bits go for 3.5k and what i would say are rubbish making 5-6k. Proper ones going for 9/10k etc. etc. Only worth what someone will value it at with their wallet though. Reckon someone could get a snip here.
Can get pro delivered to your door for £100 to say 150 in Highlands and 175 to Ireland. If abroad is no problem. but need bank transfer before goes. Charles Mortimer can do to Europe. and can get quote off him direct to act for you. Is top man. Went to his first track days at Brands waaaaay back. Was the first guy to do it.
Not an anorak on these. so if spot anything to query please contact and will share any comments.
