Description
Hopefully if you are reading this then you know what this bike is?
It is the final iteration of the SB8 model line. If not here is a quick summary. The SB8 line started with the SB8R and RS. These were the earlier style bikes with the TL1000R motor and Marelli fuel injection with 59mm throttle bodies! These bikes are asily spotted with their huge top fairing air intakes with 150mm air tubes through he fuel tank. As with all larger throttles there is only one setting. fully open. The R and RS are know for their top end rush. Then came the SB8K. mechanically as the R and RS but with the new different style. Same engine/throttles/injection as R and RS but no large air intakes. so these bikes feel strangled at high rev's due to air flow. This was the basis for the first race victory by Anthony Gobert in Phillip Island 2000. Unfortunately sponsor issues and Bimota factory problems caused the factory to shut later in 2000. With the re-birth of Bimota came the SB8K Gobert and Santamonica. These are limited runs of 40 bikes each. They both have the F1 inspired shower fuel injection. full carbon fairings/self supporting seat etc. but the Gobert get Paioli suspension. Antera wheels and goldline brembo's were as the Santamonica gets the top spec of everything. Ohlins R&T suspension. Oz forged alloy wheels and Brembo radial calipers and master cylinders.
Please look through the pictures closely. This bike is as new. It has 500KM on the clock. Everything is either carbon tank. 50% frame. fairing. seat unit. heal plates. mudguards. air tubes and pressurised airbox. the list goes on. Then there is all the hand milled details. yokes. rear seats etc. etc. As previously stated the suspension is proper R&T Ohlins not the cheap OEM stuff. and wheels are the extremely rare Oz forged alloy wheels. The last picture shows the F1 style fuel injection that boosted power by 10hp over earlier SB8R and K models and also increased torque by 12Nm. The figures however were only half the story the flat usable spread of power was the real headline when the Gobert and Santamonica were released. The Santamonica is know as the highest spec Bimota ever produced and is one of the rarest.
Now there has been a few mis-truth's in add's recently so PLEASE go away and do your research
