BSA Rocket 3 Mk1 October 1968 For Restoration

BSA ROCKET 3 MK1 OCT 1968

This bike was imported from the USA last year. All paper work correct. duty and vat paid. Plus dating certificate to enable you to register the bike with DVLA. built 31st October 1968 so rare was in the first batch to be made matching engine and frame numbers

showing 19598 miles on the speedo this bike is for restoration. It does not run and i have not tried to get it running. It does turn over and all gears engage properly. Compression is low on all the cylinders so i would say the rings are stuck from storage last licenced in the USA 1981

The front wheel is fitted with a borrani alloy rim the rear is standard which is a bit rusty the bike was missing the alloy cooler covers i have fitted a couple of reproduction ones which will need fettling and a rub down and a polish. Tank centre strip has been recovered and looks nice petrol tank securing bolt missing and one tank rubber. apart from that the bike is complete. Please study the pictures and make your own mind up

These bikes are getting harder and harder to find complete and in this condition. Being 1968 makes it slightly rearer than the 1969 bikes. If you ever want one now. your chance. not to many left now
